India Medal Tally at Asian Games 2026: The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 has commenced as India compete across 36 sporting disciplines, with a 503-member athlete contingent representing the country in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
India enters the 20th Asian Games after its record-breaking 107-medal haul at Hangzhou 2023, including 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, emerging disciplines such as teqball, MMA, padel, surfing and BMX freestyle provide new opportunities for Indian athletes.

🥈 India Women’s Team – Silver, 10m Air Rifle
India opened its Asian Games 2026 medal account with a silver in the women’s 10m air rifle team event. Elavenil Valarivan, Vidarsa Kochalumkal Vinod and Sonam Uttam Maskar combined for a strong performance to finish second. The trio secured India’s first medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Games, giving the country an early boost in the shooting competition and marking a positive start to its medal campaign.

The Indian Women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, beat Sri Lanka by 147 runs in the final and clinched the gold medal.
🥉 India Women’s Team – Bronze, Skeet Team Event
India’s women’s skeet trio of Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal secured the bronze medal in the team event at the Asian Games 2026. India finished third with 266 points, behind China and Kazakhstan. The team had stayed in bronze position through the competition, with the trio combining their qualification scores to seal India’s shooting medal.

Seema Devi secured a bronze medal at the women’s 10,000-meter competition, the first medal for India in 16 years.

India secured a Silver medal with a fantastic performance at the Asian Games. Vishal TK, Vithya Ramraj, Poovamma, Saji put up a strong show in the final and Vithya’s final push in the last 50 meters ensured India’s medal.

Kamaljeet and Suruchi Inder Singh secured a gold medal for India. It was a scintillating performance from the duo to clinch India’s first gold in shooting in this campaign.
