Bengaluru Horror: Severed Head Found on Kodathi Cricket Field, Bike Trail Under Scanner

A routine morning game turned into a nightmare for a group of young boys in Bengaluru on Wednesday after they stumbled upon a severed human head lying on a local sports ground. The gruesome discovery at Kodathi, which falls under the Varthur police limits, has sent shockwaves through the neighborhood and triggered a high-level murder investigation.

The incident came to light early Wednesday morning. According to police officials, a group of boys had arrived at the Kodathi ground to play cricket. Before they could start their game, they noticed a severed human head dumped on the premises. A local security guard also spotted the horrifying scene and immediately alerted the police control room.

Personnel from the Varthur police station rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area, and conducted a preliminary inspection. During their initial search of the field and its immediate surroundings, officers could not trace the rest of the victim’s body.

With the torso missing, investigators focused on how the head was transported to the ground. Police suspect that the perpetrators brought the severed head to the location on a motorcycle and dumped it under the cover of darkness. Distinct tyre marks, believed to belong to a two-wheeler, were discovered right next to the crime scene, giving investigators a crucial lead.

The Varthur police have registered a case and are currently scanning extensive CCTV footage from surrounding roads, shops, and residential layouts. They aim to reconstruct the sequence of events and track any suspicious two-wheeler movement that occurred between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

While local police were scouring the area for the missing body parts, a significant breakthrough came from a neighbouring jurisdiction. The Baiyappanahalli Railway Police reported finding a headless human torso lying on a railway track situated roughly 300 metres away from the cricket ground.

Authorities from both police stations are now coordinating closely to confirm that the torso matches the severed head found on the field. Forensic teams have been deployed to collect evidence from both the cricket ground and the railway tracks.

Establishing the identity of the victim remains the top priority for the police. Meanwhile, the gruesome nature of the crime has triggered panic among residents in the Kodathi and Varthur areas.
