A packed WNBA schedule on 28 and 29 June 2026 delivered records, milestones and drama. Cheryl Reeve drew level for most coaching wins, Aja Wilson posted a unique stat line, the Golden State Valkyries kept rolling, and the Washington Mystics survived a four-overtime classic against the Portland Fire.
The Washington Mystics and Portland Fire played only the second quadruple-overtime game in league history. Washington edged Portland 124-123, matching the WNBA record for the longest game. The Mystics improved to 9-9, while the expansion Fire slipped to 8-12 in a contest where five players reached new career scoring highs.

Sonia Citron decided the battle with 21.4 seconds left in the fourth overtime, hitting the go-ahead basket. Citron totalled 32 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win. Michaela Onyenwere added 30 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Kiki Iriafen delivered 27 points, 11 boards, six assists and two steals.
That trio made Washington the first WNBA team ever to have three players score at least 27 points in one game. Portland answered with three 20-point scorers of its own. Carla Leite had 32 points, nine assists, six rebounds and three steals, Sarah Ashlee Barker scored 25, and Megan Gustafson added 20.
The Mystics had also taken part in the league’s only previous four-overtime contest, a 72-69 win over the Seattle Storm on 3 July 2001. This latest meeting with Portland therefore tied that mark for duration. The Fire, despite the narrow loss, showed depth and resilience against an experienced Washington side.
