The Charlotte Hornets are continuing a major overhaul of the roster, agreeing a multi-asset trade with the Phoenix Suns that sends Miles Bridges and two future draft picks west, while Charlotte receive Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale and a distant first-round selection in return.
According to a report by Shams Charania of ESPN on Sunday, Phoenix acquire Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick. Charlotte secure Allen, O’Neale and a 2033 first-round pick, adding shooting depth and another long-term draft asset to the rebuild.
This latest agreement follows another major change for Charlotte earlier in the week. On Thursday, the Hornets sent LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a separate deal that brought centre Naz Reid to Charlotte and also involved an exchange of draft picks between the two franchises.
Bridges, 28, had been with Charlotte for all seven seasons of the NBA career after arriving on the night of the 2018 draft. Bridges became the longest-serving Hornets player and is third on the franchise all-time scoring list with 7,956 points, while ranking fourth in rebounds and three-pointers.
Across 77 games last season, all of them starts, Bridges averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. The forward shot 33.3 per cent from three-point range and was central to Charlotte finishing 44-38, a jump of 25 wins compared with the 2024-25 campaign.

Allen, 30, heads to Charlotte after posting career-best figures in Phoenix. The guard averaged 16.5 points and 3.8 assists over 51 games last season, while making a personal-high 3.1 three-pointers per game, although the three-point percentage slipped to 34.9 per cent.
O’Neale, 33, also arrives off the strongest scoring year so far. The forward produced 9.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in 78 appearances, while hitting a career-high 40.8 per cent from beyond the arc, numbers that suggest a clear floor-spacing role with the Hornets.
Despite the 44-38 record and the 25-win rise from 2024-25, Charlotte exited in the play-in game against the Orlando Magic. That defeat appears to have triggered a deeper reset, with the Hornets moving Ball and Bridges while collecting Naz Reid, Allen, O’Neale and multiple future picks.
