Shah Rukh Khan Unveils Los Angeles Knight Riders Cricket Ground: ‘A Dream Turned Into Reality’

The Bollywood superstar said the new Los Angeles Knight Riders venue is designed not just for cricket, but also for entertainment, families and creating lasting memories.

Shah Rukh Khan has officially unveiled the new home of the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), calling the opening of the franchise’s dedicated cricket ground in Los Angeles the fulfilment of a long-held dream.

The Bollywood superstar, who co-owns the Knight Riders Group, shared the announcement on social media, describing the venue as more than just a cricket stadium.

“What started as a dream… turns into reality today,” Shah Rukh wrote while welcoming fans to the new Knight Riders Cricket Ground in Los Angeles.

Sharing pictures of the venue, Shah Rukh said the facility has been built with a broader vision than simply hosting cricket matches.

The actor also thanked ICC Chairman Jay Shah, the International Cricket Council and Sanjog Gupta for supporting the project.

Major boost for cricket in the United States

The Los Angeles Knight Riders compete in Major League Cricket (MLC), with the franchise forming part of the Knight Riders Group’s growing global cricket portfolio alongside Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the ILT20.

The opening of a dedicated home venue represents another significant step in the franchise’s efforts to expand cricket’s footprint in the United States, particularly with the sport set to return to the Olympic Games at Los Angeles 2028.

The venue is expected to serve as both a cricket facility and a community entertainment destination, reflecting the Knight Riders’ ambition to grow the game beyond its traditional markets.

Shah Rukh Khan’s next film

Away from cricket, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for his next film, King, directed by Siddharth Anand.

The action thriller is expected to feature Shah Rukh alongside his daughter Suhana Khan and also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Jaideep Ahlawat. It will mark Shah Rukh’s first release since his blockbuster 2023 run with Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki.
