Nazareth Lalthazuala set for ONE Championship main roster debut at ONE Fight Night 47

India’s top MMA fighter is ready to announce his arrival on the biggest stage. Nazareth Lalthazuala will make his highly anticipated ONE Championship main roster debut against American standout Gilbert Nakatani in a strawweight MMA showdown at ONE Fight Night 47.

The duo will collide on Saturday, September 5, from the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. It marks a significant milestone for the 25-year-old Indian, who has taken the promotion by storm since his arrival.

Representing Dojang MMA, Lalthazuala boasts a perfect 8-0 MMA record and a flawless 3-0 mark inside ONE. He first burst onto the scene through ONE Friday Fights, stopping Japan’s Masaki Suzuki in a stunning 17-second knockout during his promotional debut last year.

This year has been equally spectacular for the young talent, as he finished both of his opponents before the final bell. His most recent first-round TKO victory earned him a life-changing US$100,000 contract with the promotion.

Now elevated to the main roster, Lalthazuala looks to continue his red-hot form against a seasoned veteran determined to prove his own worth among the division’s top stars. Standing across from him will be the 32-year-old Nakatani, a California native fighting out of Aragon Training Academy.

Nakatani enters with nine career MMA victories, seven of which came by finish. Since debuting inside ONE Championship in 2024, he has pushed two tough opponents to their limits, though he ultimately came up short in both contests.

Last year, Nakatani rebounded with an impressive first-round TKO victory, showcasing the finishing ability that has defined much of his career. However, a difficult loss earlier this year has left him hungry to reestablish himself among the best athletes in the world.

With Lalthazuala’s undefeated momentum colliding against Nakatani’s veteran determination, ONE Fight Night 47 promises an explosive strawweight clash. Both men will look to make a decisive statement inside Lumpinee Stadium.
