Indian batswoman Yastika Bhatia has etched her name into the history books with a magnificent maiden Test century. In the process, she also became the first woman ever to score a Test century at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground during the ongoing one-off Test against England.

The Indian wicketkeeper-batter reached the three-figure mark on Day 3 with a composed innings as she took a single off English bowler Issy Wong before absorbing the applause surrounding her. Bhatia’s landmark century put India firmly in command of the one-off Test, helping the visitors build a lead of over 400 runs. Earlier, Smriti Mandhana’s fluent 70 had laid the foundation after India dismissed England for just 170 in the first innings. With a first-innings advantage of 115, India extended their dominance and moved within touching distance of a historic maiden Women’s Test victory at Lord’s.
